Who we are

We are a volunteer-led committee known as the North Castle Revolutionary War 250 Steering Committee (NC250), who are dedicated to planning and promoting North Castle’s participation in the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. Our mission is to educate, commemorate, and celebrate our community’s critical role during this pivotal time in history.

What we do

We bring history to life through a variety o community-centered programs that educate, inspire and celebrate. Our work includes organizing public events such as commemorations , reenactments and town-wide celebrations that invite residents of all ages to connect with the past. Our historical programs highlight the places and people who played a part in shaping our nation’s founding story.

Why it matters

Understanding our history empowers our future. North Castle’s contributions to the American Revolution is significant. Through remembrance, we strengthen our sense of belonging, deepen our understanding of democracy and come together with a shared sense of purpose rooted in the very history that helped define us. These stories of bravery, resilience and the pursuit of freedom didn’t just happen in distant battlefields but they unfolded right here in North Castle.
